Summer skin

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I last posted. I’ve moved house and my routine has been majorly disturbed!

I have sensitive skin so at this time of year I’m always keen to wear Factor 30 sunscreen and I used to buy the more expensive/suitable for sensitive skin brands but recently I’ve been buying supermarket own label and found it’s suited my skin fine.  I do think that Baz Luhrmann had the right idea with his song “Sun screen” you can’t underrate the importance of protecting your skin at any age. When I was a teenager I used to see the red bits on my shoulders and the bridge of my nose as a bit of a badge of honour but now I know better.  The redness on the surface of the skin is only the half of it.

If you ever do end up with pink/red sunburned skin a top tip is to rub half a fresh tomato over it, especially if it’s been in the fridge.  But best of all is to avoid the redness all together.  I find using self-tan for my face is the best option then I can keep my face in the shade whenever possible without looking two-tone!
